Groveland - Elizabeth A. "Betty" (Jones) Huberdeau, 75, widow of the late Gene R. Huberdeau, of Groveland passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 29 at her home in Groveland.Elizabeth was born in Haverhill the daughter of Abbott O. and Patricia E. Jones. She was a graduate of Pentucket High School, Class of 1967. Betty had a long career in the healthcare industry as an office administrator for local doctors and hospital facilities, working at both the Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital and Anna Jacques Hospital as well as for Dr. Joseph Andreas in Newburyport. Betty was an animal lover, she enjoyed being outdoors and walking on the beach, and going to Florida. She liked to watch the Celtics and Patriots and loved spending time with family. Betty will be fondly remembered as a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.Betty is survived by her mother Patricia E. Jones of North Conway, her son, Adam and his wife Devon Huberdeau of Groveland, and her daughter Elizabeth "Liz" Cena of Tampa, FL. She also leaves behind her brother Craig Jones of North Conway and a sister Kathleen Jackson of Bradford, and a granddaughter, Vivie Gene Huberdeau. Windham - Joan V. Tremblay, 91, passed away peacefully on June 11, 2024. She was born in Lawrence, MA to Emilien and Laura (Desrosiers) Levesque. She graduated from St Joseph's High School and went on to MacIntosh School of Business, where she learned to be a bookkeeper. She married and raised her family in Methuen, MA, where she resided for 60 years, before recently moving to Windham, NH. Joan will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She is predeceased by her husband Paul E. Tremblay, her sisters Rita Cormier and Agnes Rousseau and her brother Raymond Levesque. Methuen - Thomas Peter Allain passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 11, 2024.Born in Andover February 28, 1932 to Thomas and Phoebe (Bernard) Allain, he was a resident of South Lawrence, Methuen, MA and Ft Myers, FL. Tom served in the United States Navy during the Korean War. He worked many years as a floor mechanic for Arlington and Lawrence Floor Covering also for the Gillette Company in Ballardvale until his retirement in1994. A longtime member of the Lawrence Elks where he would play 45's card games and enjoyed spending time with his fellow Elk members. Tom enjoyed spending time in St. Maarten, while also visiting other islands with his wife of 54 years, Patricia (Mannion) Allain, as well as many years with his family at their summer home at Chases Grove, on Big Island Pond, Derry NH. Taking many trips back home to Prince Edward Island to visit his relatives and friends, especially his cousin, Benny Bernard. Their adventures including fishing, clam digging and steaming lobsters. In the winter months he spent his time in Fort Myers with his loved ones and friends at the Pinewood and Brandy Wine communities. After his wife, Patricia succumbed to cancer he courted and eventually married Bernadette Connell who was a good friend and a big help to our mom during her battle with Multiple Myeloma. Tom and "Bernie" enjoyed traveling on cruise ships and enjoyed going to many different casinos and beaches. Beloved husband of Bernadette (Connell) Allain married 10 years. children, Thomas W. Haverhill - Salvatore J. "Sal" Amari, 98, formerly of Haverhill, passed away on Wednesday, May 29 at the Lutheran Rehabilitation and Skilled Care Center in Worcester.Sal was born in Utica, New York the son of Joseph and Lena (Durso) Amari. A veteran of WWII, Sal served 16 months overseas under command General George Patton Co. A, 330th Infantry Regiment, the battles of Rhineland, Ardennes, and Central Europe. After the end of the War, he was assigned to the Army of Occupation in Germany before being discharged March 31, 1946. He had been drafted November 9, 1943 at age eighteen. Sal was employed for 26 years at the Boston Navy Yard as an Engineering Draftsman, retiring in 1974 when the facility was closed.A resident of the Mount Washington district of Haverhill for 78 years, he volunteered in neighborhood committees to promote improvement projects and in parish activities at St. Rita's Church until its closing. He was very active in the Italian community as the Historian of the Victor Emanuel Lodge, Order of the Sons of Italy. Many of his historical accounts are in the Special Collections section of the Haverhill Public Library. Sal has been the recipient of many awards and citations for his service to the Italian community. In an article by Gazette staff writer, Tom Vartabedian, on June 1, 1992 Sal was referred to as "Senior is Heartbeat of Italian Community".As a musician, Sal has been a member of the Lodge's Drum Corps as a drummer and instructor since 1948. Since 1965, he has been a drummer for Haverhill City Band and a member of the Haverhill Musician's Union, Local 302.Sal studied art in Boston, graduating from Scott Carbee School of Fine Arts and the School of Practical Art. He taught art classes at YWCA in 1950 and since 1997 as a substitute teacher in the Haverhill schools. He is a former member of the Greater Haverhill Art Association.Sal leaves behind his nephew, John A. Ranieri of Lancaster, MA, his brother Anthony J. Amari and his wife, Debra of Lakewood, New Mexico and a first cousin Peter Artale and his wife, Helga of Franklin, MA. He was predeceased by his sister Frances M. Rockport - Isobel Jane Webster (Milne) Baade, 93, of Rockport, died at home on Sunday, May 5, 2024.She was born February 13, 1931, to James Milne and Anne (Smith) Milne in Auchenblae, Scotland.Isobel attended the Northern Counties Training College for Domestic Science and Cookery and went on to teach domestic science to children with disabilities.She met Eric Crull Baade while on vacation in Rome, Italy. They married July 21, 1956, and had two children, David and Anne.She was proficient in needle crafts and had a special interest in quilting. Isobel made over one hundred quilts before becoming legally blind. She supported many institutions and volunteered at several.Isobel is survived by her sister, Anne Nicholson, her daughter, Anne Baade, her son-in-law, Ronald Tanner, and her grandchildren, Isobel Tanner and Maxwell Tanner, as well as her nieces, nephews and extended family.A Celebration of Life will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 29, 2024, at St. Mary's Episcopal Church in Rockport. Lawrence - Jasper A. Balsamo, 95, of Methuen, MA, passed away peacefully on Saturday afternoon at the MI Nursing Restorative Center in Lawrence, MA.Jasper was born in Haverhill, MA, the son of the late Anthony and Carmina Rossi; he was educated in the Lawrence schools. Jasper served in the U.S. Army and later worked in construction. He worked at the Lawrence Paperboard Corp. in Lawrence for 33 years.In addition to his parents, Jasper was predeceased by his first wife, Carmeline Balsamo, and his second wife, Maureen Balsamo. He is also pre-deceased by his brother, Frank Rossi.Jasper is survived by his daughters, Donna Balsamo, Jean Marquis and her husband Roger, and Julia Notenboom and her husband Gary. Jasper is also survived by his 4 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Even when dementia took over his mind not a day went by that he didn't ask about and want to speak to his greatgrandchildren, Ava and Ben. He was amazed he could speak with them and see them on the cell phone at the same time. His family was everything to him, he also leaves many nieces, nephews, and friends.You almost made it to 96 years old Dad. You will be greatly missed. Andover - Orazio Michael "Mike" Bellia, 92, passed away November 1, 2023, at High Pointe House in Haverhill, MA, surrounded by his loving family. Born on June 15, 1931, in Andover, MA, he was the son of the late Antonio and Carmela (Cavallaro) Bellia, the husband of the late Mary Frances "Fran" (LaRochelle) Bellia and brother of the late Rose Bellia.Mike spent most of his life on Greenwood Road in Andover, building a house next to his parents, where he and Fran spent 58 years together. A lifelong Catholic, he graduated from Central Catholic High School in 1949 and was the first in his family to attend college. Portsmouth - Roland A. 'Ben' Benoit, 85, a resident of Hampton Beach, NH, passed away on Saturday, June 8, 2024 at the Portsmouth Regional Hospital in Portsmouth, NH.The son of the late Wilfred and Jeannette (Houle) Benoit, Ben was born and educated in Lawrence and was a 1957 graduate of Lawrence High School. He went on to attend Merrimack College in North Andover. Ben served in the Military Police in the United States Army Reserves. He retired from Wang Laboratories where he had worked as a Contracts Manager for over 20 years. Despite being French, Ben loved Irish songs and dancing. He loved his numerous trips to Ireland. Ben took great pride in his family, it was the most important thing in his life.Ben is survived by his wife of 64 years Helen M. (Bowler) Benoit, his children: Christopher and his wife, Karen of Methuen, MA, Patricia and her husband, Darrell Marroncelli of Hampton, NH, and James and his wife Jaime of Lawrence, MA. He is also survived by a sister, Carol Auerbach of Alabama as well as his grandchildren: David and his wife Kristen Marroncelli, Kristen and her husband Gabriel Vicente, and Nicholas Benoit, Hannah Benoit, Sean Benoit and Shane Benoit. Andover - Roland A. Bibeau peacefully passed away June 3, 2024. He was born in Lawrence MA to Wilfrid and Aurore Bibeau and grew up in Sacred Heart Parish and the French-Canadian community. Roland graduated from Central Catholic High School in 1947. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict. He worked as a pressman for the Lowell Sun until his retirement. He loved his family very much and enjoyed keeping track of his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.Roland was predeceased by his beloved wife Helena L. (Beaulieu) Bibeau in 1976. Pelham - Philippe L. "Phil" Blanchette, 94, of Pelham, NH, passed away peacefully on Saturday May 4, 2024, at home.He was the beloved husband of Jacqueline A. "Jackie" (Bedard) Blanchette of Pelham, NH, who survives him.Born in Lawrence, MA, April 16, 1930, the son of the late Louis P. and the late Yvonne (Hebert) Blanchette, he received his education through the Methuen School system.A veteran of the Korean War, Philippe proudly served his country in the U.S. Army.Prior to his retirement, Philippe worked as a Meat cutter at the former Purity Supreme Market in Pelham, NH, and previously worked at the Kenney Meat Supply Company in Lawrence, MA.Amongst his many interests, Philippe was a member of the Pelham Knights of Columbus, Pelham Garden Club, and the Pelham Spirit Club. He also had a love for snowmobiling and was a member of Pelham Border Riders.Besides his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Muriel A. Methuen - William N. "Billy" Blouin, 73, of Methuen, MA, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 26, 2024, at Andover Manor, surrounded by those he loved. He was the husband of Paula A. (McCarthy) Blouin, with whom he shared 50 wonderful years in marriage.Born and raised in Lawrence, MA, son of the late William J. and Marie L. (Hale) Blouin, William was a graduate of Central Catholic High School. He later received an associate degree from Northern Essex Community College. He was employed at Borden OPP plant in North Andover for over 20 years. He worked as the head of security at Northern Essex Community College and later at Pfizer in the security department until his retirement.In 1973, Billy and Paula were married and settled in Lawrence, where they raised their family. For William, family was everything, and he always made sure they knew they were at the top of his priority.An avid sports fan, Billy was a dedicated fan of the Notre Dame football team as well as all the New England sports teams. For many years, he was a coach for local youth basketball, Softball, and football teams. He enjoyed a good game of tennis and spending time on the golf course whenever possible.He will be remembered for his skills on the grill, most remembered for his "Billy Burgers". Lawrence - Robert Allen Bobek, known to his loved ones as Bobby, passed away on June 15, 2024, in Lawrence, MA, at the age of 71.Bob loved cycling, spending time with dogs, relaxing at the beach, listening to the classic rock of his teenage years and immersing himself in mystery and science fiction books as a voracious reader. He was known for a wicked sense of humor and passed along his staunchly progressive political views to his children.Bob was a dedicated, caring, and brilliant person who committed over 30 years of his life to his career at UMass Boston. His passion and hard work left a lasting impact on thousands of young scholars he supported in their studies.Bob will always be remembered for his funny, smart, and resilient nature. Haverhill - Joanna (Liefield) Brown, 81, died peacefully at the High Pointe Hospice House in Haverhill surrounded by the love and prayers of family and friends.She was born in Manhattan, NYC, the only child of Edward Liefield and Susie (Persico) Liefield. She attended schools in NYC, graduated from St. John's University with a degree in English and began working on Wall Street.She then met and married the love of her life and naval corpsman Dennis Brown. Together they traveled to Key West, FL, Methuen, MA, and eventually settled down in Bradford, MA, where they raised their three children.Joanna loved to read, cook and travel. Her breadth of knowledge and joy for learning was unstoppable, as was her faith, even in the toughest times.She was many things throughout her life: PTO parent, CCD catechist, substitute teacher, community activist, Sacred Heart food pantry volunteer, and ostomy support volunteer at Anna Jaques Hospital. However, more than anything she was an amazing wife, mother and grandmother.Joanna was predeceased by her beloved husband, Dennis Brown. Terry is survived by his wife of 38 years, Melissa (McCabe), who was his college sweetheart; his children, Patrick (Katey), Christopher (Natasha), Brendan, and Ava; and his beloved grandchildren, Amelia, Andrew, and Vivian.He is predeceased by his parents, Francis and Constance of Salem, NH, and his cherished bird, Vinca. Despite living with prostate cancer for a decade, Terry was in excellent health until shortly before his passing. His positive attitude was a beacon of light, inspiring those around him and showing that one can maintain a positive outlook even in the face of adversity.Terry's life was a testament to his unwavering dedication to his family, home, and work. Ultimately, his love for his family and friends truly defined him. The time spent with his beloved grandchildren gave him immense joy. His extended family and friends were not just people in his life; they were cherished deeply. His presence at any gathering made it fun and memorable. He was always ready to go the extra mile for others, a true reflection of his character.As a third-generation owner of Dodge Grain Co. in Salem, NH, alongside his brother Frank, Terry's leadership and tenacity guided the business for more than four decades. Terry took immense pride in working with his son Brendan, his niece Kelly, his nephew Buck, and his many loyal employees. His devoted customers appreciated his kindness and attentive service. He had a profound love for his work, finding fulfillment in being productive and contributing to the success of his business.Terry was an outstanding athlete. He excelled in swimming, football, basketball, baseball, and track and field in his youth. He was a three-sport high school athlete named to numerous all-star teams and inducted into the inaugural Austin Preparatory School Athletic Hall of Fame for football. At Bates College, he was the captain of the football team. On the field, he was an intense competitor. When he stepped off the field, he was a quiet leader, a dedicated friend, and a gentle soul.As an adult, he was an enthusiastic runner, completing many road races and marathons. He was disciplined about keeping fit, and his trips to the gym were a part of his daily regimen. He was also an ardent spectator of all sports. In particular, he loved watching the New England Patriots with family or friends. Watching his children engage and compete on the field was a source of immense pride for Terry. He was a keen observer and had a critical eye for the intricacies of sport.As a lifelong gardener, Terry grew vegetables each summer and loved sharing his bounty with family and friends. He also kept bees and chickens, so visitors to his home never left empty-handed, whether with honey, eggs, or his tasty kosher dill pickles.Terry Burke left a legacy of love and dedication that will be forever missed by all fortunate enough to know him. Kingston - Kingston, NH: Lawrence A. "Joe" Buswell, 85, a resident of Kingston (formerly of Plaistow), died Sunday, June 16, 2024, at Exeter Hospital, after a brief illness.Born and raised in East Kingston, he was the son of the late Ralph and Etta (Webster) Buswell. He graduated from Sanborn Seminary with the Class of 1956 and attended Plymouth State College.Mr. Buswell attended Barber school and in 1961 purchased Joe's Barber Shop on Main Street in Plaistow. He was fondly referred to as "Joe the Barber" by many over the forty-four years he owned the business. He was known to occasionally perform a few magic or card tricks for customers. In 1977 he, his wife, Gertrude and sister-in-law, Penny Southwick purchased lakefront property in Kingston and over the years built and operated Country Shore Camping Area. Joe spent many hours on his John Deere tractor working at the campground with a big smile and a wave to everyone who passed by.He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Plaistow and former member of the Plaistow Lions Club. He was a 70- year member of the Wingold Grange of East Kingston. He also served on the Plaistow Volunteer Fire Department for many years and as a deputy of Co.2 for several years. Some will recall him running from the Barber Shop to the old firehouse if there was a call during the day.A devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, he most enjoyed the times he spent with his large family including his wife, three children, eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. When his family was young, they spent the summers enjoying life on the lake including boating, swimming, water skiing and hosting cookouts for family and friends. In later years, he and his wife traveled the country in their motorhome and spent their winter months in Largo Florida enjoying golf, he even scored a hole-in-one. Joe was quite a card and cribbage shark, quiet but crafty and strategic. He enjoyed reading and playing free-cell solitaire of which, he had a hefty win total.Mr. Buswell was predeceased in 2017 by his loving wife of fifty-nine years, Gertrude (Southwick) Buswell. They were high school sweethearts, met when they were 16, married at 21 and had 3 children within 4 years. He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his son, Lawrence A. Byron Jr, 95, of Salem, NH and previously of Andover, MA. passed away on Wednesday, May 29th, 2024, at the Salemhaven Nursing Center.He was born on December 5, 1928, to Eugenia (Beaudet) and Alexander Byron Sr. Alexander was raised in Lawrence, MA, attended local schools and went on to attend Central Catholic High School, where he was the Quarterback for the football team as well as playing baseball. He graduated in 1947 and took courses at the Franklin Institute of Electronics. Alexander married the love of his life on July 3, 1949, and the couple raised their family in Lawrence, MA. He spent his career working as a Quality Control Analyst for Western Electric, now Lucent Technologies, until his retirement in 1986.Alexander was a life member and Range Officer of the Andover Sportsmen Club and the Lawrence Rod and Gun Club, where he had served as Club President. He had a love for sports, whether it was hunting, fishing, target practicing, football, or baseball and played as a catcher for the CYO baseball team and coached in the Methuen Little League for many years.He was very proud of his family, beginning with his father and his decorated service as a Captain in the United States Army Cavalry Division, displaying his father's medals on the walls of his home. He adored his wife, or as he often referred to her, his best friend. Alex cared for her in their home until 2018. Danville - On Saturday, June 15th, James (Jim, Jimmy) Cameron, 82, of Danville, NH, passed away from complications after a fall. He had been ill the previous few months as well, and his family would like to thank all of his doctors and various other caregivers from Elliot Hospital, Dartmouth Hitchco*ck, and Catholic Medical in Manchester, NH, as well as Parkland Medical in Derry NH, and the EMT services in Danville, NH. Their kindness and compassion did not go unnoticed and we are grateful to them all. Jim was born in Lowell, MA, in 1941, to Kenneth and Rosalie Cameron. He was raised in Lowell, attending Lowell High School, where he first began playing the saxophone. Jim briefly spent time at Boston College and Rhode Island School of Design before earning his degree from St. Anselm's College, in Manchester, NH, where he met his wife, Elizabeth. They were married in 1968 and raised three children, Jaimie, Heather, and Lonnae.Jim began playing the saxophone professionally in 1958, and although he consideredhimself a self-taught player, he studied briefly with Lee Konitz and Jackie McLean. Heperformed with Lou Donaldson, Jimmy Garrison, 'Papa' Joe Jones, Phil Woods, Buddy Tate, Red Holloway, Teddy Kotick, and Clark Terry. During the '70s and '80s, Jim was prominent on the Boston jazz scene as a member of the Bunny Smith Quartet, playingall the major and not-so-major Boston jazz clubs and the Boston Globe Jazz Festival. In the 80's Jim toured the US and Canada with blues legends Katie Webster and Mighty Sam McLaine, and can be heard on several CDs from such labels as Brownstone, GM, and Sea Breeze. Jim performed at jazz clubs, concerts, and festivals around the world, including England, France, Portugal, Vancouver, and Japan.Until recently, he divided his time playing in three big bands, two nonets, a sextet, and various smaller jazz ensembles in the New England area.When he wasn't playing the sax, he was oftenfound at home doing yardwork in one of his beautiful gardens. Jim and his wife, Elizabeth were avid gardeners, and at one point both were NH master gardeners.He loved animals and spent decades adopting retired racing greyhounds until he ended up with one tiny Dachshund, Teddy, who is still waiting for his return. Jim enjoyed many forms of art and returned to painting in various styles repeatedly during his life. Jim could be a quiet man in large groups, but amongst friends and family was often quite the ham. Nothing made him happier than making his children laugh and the daily 5 p.m. family dinner was often a loud and rowdy affair with terrible jokes and lots of hilarity. He was a true friend and left behind many close relationships, some going back almost 70 years. Jim was a beautiful man and artist and will be missed in many ways. She was always quick to smile and share in the festivities; she loved family events.In her free time, Pat enjoyed reading, cooking, ice skating, dancing, and visiting the beach. He went on to receive his Bachelor of Science degree from the College of Saint Anselm and later his Master's Degree in Accounting from Bentley University.Tom worked as an accountant for a Boston Company but most of his work life was dedicated to Lawrence General Hospital. Working first as an orderly in the Operating Room, he had a forty-year career as a Respiratory Therapist before retiring.Tom had an eclectic abundance of interests in his life, history being his favorite. He could recall factual information on subjects ranging from politics, American, British, ancient and medieval history, psychology and baseball, as well as obscure subjects such as old movies, early television programs, commercials and musicals of the 1940's. He possessed a unique sense of humor and enjoyed cooking and following the Patriots and the Red Sox. He depended on his Kindle to maintain his voracious reading on all subjects including novels, and true to his Massachusetts roots, considered politics a contact sport!Predeceased in 2019 by his loving wife, Diane (Fournier) Chapman, and by his son Benjamin T. Charbonneau, 92, formerly of Haverhill, MA., passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Monday, June 17, 2024, at Transitions LifeCare in Wake County, NC.Born in Haverhill, MA, he was the son of the late Joseph Gerard Ludwig Charbonneau and Evelyn (Dugas) Charbonneau. Educated in Haverhill Public Schools, he was a graduate of Haverhill Trade School, Class of 1953. A Korean War Veteran, Daniel enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and was honorably discharged in 1958. He worked in the maintenance department of Northern Essex Community College for 31 years; he also enjoyed spending time following the stock market. Gloria found joy in cooking, singing, country music, dancing, walking on the beach, boating, reading, shopping, and traveling.Known for her exceptional generosity, Gloria touched the lives of both family, friends and strangers alike. She was famous for her random acts of kindness. Gloria held her family dearly in her heart and She introduced herself to every new baby in our family, held in her arms singing. Andover - Robert "Bob" Nevers Cratty, 98, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 10, at Prescott House in North Andover. Robert was born in Patten, Maine on September 30, 1925, son of the late Bernard Cratty and Jayne Nevers Cratty. He attended Patten Academy and enlisted in the U.S. Army from 1943 to 1946. After serving his country, Bob attended the University of Maine under the G.I. Bill, majoring in Agriculture. Bob fell in love with Jeannine Fitzgerald, at a sweetheart dance and they married in 1949 and settled in Patten where he taught high school until 1952. Upon accepting a position with the Federal Land Bank, Bob moved his family to Springfield, Massachusetts until 1957 when he accepted a position with the Farm Credit Administration and moved his family to Morrisville, Vermont. In 1960, there would be one final move for Bob and his family to Andover, Massachusetts when he began a successful career with Blue Seal Feeds, Inc.(H.K. Webster Company) of Lawrence, Massachusetts as vice president of credit. Bob retired in 1990.Bob was a member of South Church in Andover for 61 years, teaching Sunday school and serving on many boards and committees throughout his active years. He loved a good sermon. Every night he read from a book of prayers he received when he was 18 years old that he kept on his bedside table. Bob loved working in his garden and digging in the dirt. As a young boy living in Aroostook County, Maine "potato country," he picked potatoes for pennies a barrel. Every year, Bob would sow his seeds and tend his garden for hours on end and reap the results of his hard work. Bob was a man of immense humor and wisdom, cherishing every moment spent with his loved ones telling stories. He loved telling a good joke and he'd laugh harder than anyone else.After the death of his wife, Jeannine in 1995, Bob found love again when he met Mary "Betty" Murray while attending a local swing dance. "Jack" Davis, 62, husband of Patricia Jardine, of Groveland passed away on Tuesday, June 18 at the Boston Medical Center.Jack was born in Somerville the son of John Davis and Anne Marie (Burns) Collis. He was a graduate of Pentucket Regional High School and then joined the Navy, after which he went on to study nursing at Northern Essex Community College. He proudly served in the US Navy from 1980 until 1984 during the Iranian Hostage Crisis. He served aboard the USS Coral Sea CV-43, receiving the Navy Expeditionary Medal and Sea Service Deployment Ribbon with Star. Jack was proud of his role as a hostage negotiator for the United States Government during his long career. He worked as a Registered Nurse for many years, eventually rising to the Nurse Manager position in the forensic psychiatric unit of the Federal Medical Center at Fort Devens from which he retired. In his younger days, Jack liked riding skimobiles and motorcycles. He was passionate about his vintage Rambler convertible and loved spending time driving around with the top down playing Oldies music. Jack also enjoyed spending time with his friends, fishing, and enjoyed boating on his boat the "Iona" and going to their home in Florida.Jack is survived by his wife Patricia Jardine of Groveland, his daughter Angela Davis of Rochester, NH, his son Michael W. Full of energy and always learning Rose worked as a Sales Representative for Ciba Giegy selling medical equipment, and retired from this company at the age of 70. True to herself, Rose worked at various other jobs, such as working at the desk at a dental office until she was 80. She never stopped moving forward and never stopped learning something new. Rose was an avid reader with a library of books including many on the history of the US as well as mysteries and crime novels. She was immensely proud of her French roots and read many books on the emigration of her family from France to Nova Scotia, finally settling in Haverhill. Growing up during the big band era, Rose was a lover of music and dancing. Born on May 26, 1950, at Fort Devens in Ayer, MA, Michael was the beloved son of the late Thomas F. Donahue and the late Blanche B. (Sadzewicz) Jabour. He was raised in Lawrence, where he graduated from Lawrence High School before proudly serving his country in the United States Marine Corps.Michael's life was marked by deep faith and resilience. A devoted member of the Trinity Church of the Nazarene in North Haverhill, NH, his spirituality was a cornerstone of his life. Michael loved taking long walks, and fishing, however his greatest joy was his family, particularly his "baby sister" and his siblings, he loved all the children. Michael's generosity was evident in the simple pleasures he shared with them, such as trips to Friendly's for ice cream, where his kindness extended to other families as well. An accomplished trumpet player, he enjoyed marching with the Eagles Band, showcasing his musical talents.Michael is survived by his loving siblings: Marilyn A. She was a very hard worker, provided for her family, and made goodies for her neighbors. In her free time, Diane took trips to the beach, sang karaoke, and played bingo. North Andover - Leo Michael Donovan, age 98 passed into the loving arms of Jesus on Saturday, June 15, 2024. He was born and raised in Lawrence, Massachusetts, the youngest child of the late Elizabeth (Coughlin) and Michael Donovan, brother to the late Sister Mary Donovan SC and the late Margaret (Peggy) Hynes.Leo graduated from Lawrence High School in 1943 and enrolled in the United States Navy soon after. A veteran of battles in both Normandy and Iwo Jima, where he was wounded, he was a recipient of the Purple Heart and was honorably discharged in 1946. After returning home he started a career with the New England Telephone Co. that would span more than three decades. In 1957, he married Marguerite McGillan and together they raised two children, Daniel and MaryJean, in a home they built in North Andover and lived in for 54 years until they moved to Brightview in North Andover in 2015. Known for his fabulous sense of humor and love of an amusing story, Leo was a friend to many including his lifelong high school friends whom he spent many summer days with on the beaches of New Hampshire, fellow employees at NE Telephone, many steadfast and spirited North Andover couples and countless people at Brightview, including residents, staff and those who helped lovingly care for him in his last few years. His profound interest in and concern for others was his unique and God given gift. A man of great faith, he lived out an example of love, compassion and empathy in all of his interactions, whether with a beloved family member, close friend, cherished caretaker or even a stranger. Fueled by a genuine desire to bring joy, laughter and meaning to every encounter he had with others, he greeted all with a warm and infectious smile, a bit of hard earned wisdom and a genuine curiosity about their lives and those of their families. Leo's family was his greatest accomplishment and a source of immense delight, comfort and pride. He and Marguerite treasured time with their children and grandchildren, especially during the many summers they spent together on the beaches of Ogunquit, Maine.He is predeceased by his devoted wife of 62 years, Marguerite and is survived by his adoring children, Daniel (Janet) and MaryJean Massimino (R.C.) loving grandchildren Caitlin Neumeier (Clay), Erin Swanson (Ryan), Leo (Jillian), Grace, Matthew, Roland and Rocco, his precious great grandchildren Holly, June, Morgan, Carly and Donovan James, many caring nieces and nephews and his dear in laws Kathleen McGillan, Sister Marilyn McGillan A.P.B. and John Sweeney.Visitation will take place at Conte Funeral Home in North Andover on Thursday, June 20th 9:00 to 11:00 a.m followed by a funeral mass at 11:30 a.m. at Saint Michael's Church in North Andover where Leo was a parishioner for many years. Yuma - Maureen Bernadette Donovan, 86, passed away at her home in Yuma, AZ on May 8, 2024. Born and raised in Methuen, she was the daughter of the late Augustine and Maud (Chivall) Donovan. Maureen graduated from Tenney High School, Class of 1955. After high school she worked for many years at Malden Mills, then had a long career at Lawrence General Hospital in Medical Records, Ambulatory Care and the Business office until her retirement. She enjoyed spending time with her kids and their families, traveling, walking on the beach and reading. Maureen was the beloved wife of Raymond Fabian of Yuma, AZ. She was the loving mother of Catherine Cutlip and her husband Jeffery of Pocahontas, AR, Colleen Krop of Hooksett, NH, Wayne Hebert and his wife Kim of Berlin, NH, Christopher Hebert and his wife Maria of Aubrey, TX and Kevin Hebert of Pelham, NH. Andover - Theresa L. Drouin, 80, passed away on May 18, 2024. She was born in Sanford, ME, on August 2, 1943, daughter of the late Adrien and Helen (Dawson) Drouin.She attended Amesbury High school and went on to Northern Essex Community College where she earned a business degree. She had worked at AT&T/Lucent for many years as a secretary until her retirement. She enjoyed traveling, dancing, and skiing. She most treasured spending time with family and friends and many summers at Mousam Lake in Maine. As a spiritual peacemaker and ordained minister, her work was a great part of her life. In her last chapter, she became an advocate for end-of-life choices, living out her beliefs. Salem - Robert R. Eichhorn Sr, 90, died from congestive heart failure May 22, 2024, at home surrounded by family. He was the son of Raymond and Andrea Eichhorn. Bob graduated from Searles High School, Class of 1952. Following graduation, he served as a Gunner's Mate in the U.S. Navy onboard USS Haynsworth DD 700, during the Korean War. After release from service, he went on to Dunwoody College of Culinary Arts before returning home to work with his father at the family bakery. In 1955, he married Carolyn Ward, and they settled in Salem NH where they raised their 5 sons. Bob was a member of the Derry-Salem Elks #2226, VFW Post 8546, and Salem-Pelham Fish and Game Club. He was also a Shriner and Master Mason. He loved fishing, hunting and making people laugh. Londonderry - Susan C. Elmore, 75, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 5, 2024 at her home in Londonderry, NH.She was born Susan A. Cavanaugh on May 4, 1949, the daughter of the late James and Dorothy (Quinn) Cavanaugh.Susan grew up in Newtown, Connecticut and was the first in her family to go to college, graduating from Sacred Heart University as her class's valedictorian. She then entered the workforce at Travelers in Hartford, Connecticut, where she met Paul Elmore. Paul and Susan married on October 21, 1972, and remained married up until Paul's passing 45 years later in 2017.Susan lived a very full life, occupied by her professional work as an accountant, her family life as a wife and mother, and her various interests that included singing in the church choir at St. Matthew Parish, and tap dancing, which she enjoyed even into her 70s after two knee replacements! Even in her retirement years, Susan remained active with her grandchildren and as a member of her condo association's governing board. Susan brought her keen mind, her appreciation for attention to detail, and her caring heart to everything she did, and she was well-liked by those who worked, prayed, sang, or danced with her.Susan is survived by her daughter, Julie Elmore of Ayer, MA, and her son and daughter-in-law, John Elmore and Xiaohui Zeng-Elmore of Stratham, NH, whose two boys, Edward Elmore and Brian Elmore, were very fond of their grandmother. Haverhill - Robert (Bob) Fedorchuk, 92, of Haverhill, MA passed away peacefully with his wife and two daughters at his side, on June 6, 2024 after a period of failing health.He was born on August 30, 1931, son of the late Felix and Helen (Cortese) Fedorchuk.After graduating from the Haverhill Trade School, Bob enlisted in the United States Air Force serving during the Korean War. He was stationed in Greenland, which he loved to talk about. After completion of his Air Force Service, Robert worked as an Auto Body Repairman for several different Auto Dealerships. He then continued his career as a Model Maker at Raytheon. Continuing his love of automobiles, he attended the General Motors Institute in Flint, MI where he trained to become an adjuster for General Motors. After working for General Motors for several years, he managed several Auto Dealerships in the New England Area. He obtained his Bachelor's Degree from Fitchburg State University, and then went on to spent over 30 years as a teacher and Administrator at Greater Lowell Regional Vocational Technical High School, in Tyngsboro, MA, until his retirement in 2005.In his earlier years he loved to travel to the Islands, with his wife, Marge by his side, always returning sporting a great tan. His love of automobiles remained, going on to restore a Model T car and of course helping out any and all of those in need of car repairs. He then became interested in model ship building, and of course, each and every piece was precisely placed. Haverhill - Raymond F. Galinsky died peacefully with his wife and family by his side on June 18, 2024. He was a lifelong resident of Haverhill, son of Frank and Sarah (Antkowiak) Galinsky.Ray graduated from Haverhill High School, class of 1955. He was a Korean War Veteran in the United States Air Force where he was a crew chief on a B25 aircraft on flying status stationed at Kirtland Air Force Base in Albuquerque, NM.He went on to receive his associates in fire science from North Shore Community College. He retired as a lieutenant and EMT from the Haverhill Fire Department after 40 years of service. Ray was badly burnt in on February 7, 1988 while searching for children on the second floor of a building fire. Lawrence - A self described independent spirit who shunned the limelight, Bill had an adventurous soul which saw him drive cross country as a young man long before GPS' and Google Maps ever existed with only a Rand-McNally atlas and a sense of adventure. He also hitchhiked his way across the USA with his backpack on his back on a few occasions. WIlliam Daniel Geary, 65, of Lawrence, passed away Friday, June 14, 2024.Bill was born in Lawrence in 1959 to Daniel Edward Geary and Mary (Bettencourt) Geary. Bill attended Lawrence Public Schools including the Essex Street School, Bruce School, and Oliver Jr High School. Bill graduated from Lawrence High School in 1977. While attending public schools, Bill played CYO basketball for St. Augustine's in Tower Hill, Lawrence. Several years later, he returned to coach youth basketball culminating in a championship season at the Lawrence Boys and Girls Club. Bill also attended and graduated from the University of Lowell, focusing on history and secondary education.Being the oldest of seven children, Bill was the typical oldest child - independent and self driven. After graduating college, Bill drove cross country by answering an ad in a magazine and settled in Thousand Oaks, CA for a couple of years. He later enjoyed several hitchhiking trips across the USA. Prior to embracing his love for being "On the Road" following one of his early heroes from another Massachusetts mill town, Jack Kerouac, Bill was very involved in coaching youth basketball at the Lawrence Boys and GIrls club where he was once named "Boy of the Year".Bill loved history. He shared this passion with hundreds of students over the years as a history teacher at Lawrence High School for 25 years before retiring several years ago. Although known as a "strict" teacher, students throughout the years came to know and respect him as a conscientious teacher who truly cared about them and their success. He knew their struggles but recognized their potential and worked tirelessly to have them recognize it as well. After retiring from Lawrence High School, Bill worked as a cook for Carleen's Coffee Shop. He also stayed sharp employing his keen sense of humor and cutting debating skills while working as a bartender for Hayes Tavern where he leaves behind many friends.Bill was also an avid reader and one of the most intellectually honest people to walk the earth. His sense of morals, ethics and justice were well developed and he always argued for the "common man". Bill also was an avid writer, both prose and poetry, influenced by such greats as Kerouac, Ginsburg, Burroughs, and Cassady. Earlier in life, Bill enjoyed works by Bradbury, Orwell and Hesse.Bill loved music, especially the blues. He co-owned and operated an alternative music store in Newburyport in the early 1980's. He maintained an extensive collection of all genres of music in a variety of forms; including an impressive collection of the one true medium of music - vinyl. Bill enjoyed running, riding his bike, and spending time at the beach. In his younger years, he was known to be a fairly decent body surfer and never hesitated to test his skills later on as well. Bill greatly enjoyed spending time with his siblings and nieces and nephews. Bill was famous for his early arrivals and silent Irish goodbyes at family gatherings - valuing big quality over limited quantity. His yearly Christmas gift, orange chocolate balls, to everyone will be sorely missed.Bill was predeceased by his parents, Daniel and Mary. Salem - Vincent "Vinny" P. Gedaminsky of Salem, NH, 75, entered into eternal rest on June 16, 2024.Vinny was born in Cambridge MA to the late Anthony and Edwinda (Lewko) Gedaminsky. He was a supervisor in the IT department of Harvard University, where he was employed for 47 years.He lived in Salem since 1971, when he purchased his "cottage on a lake", where he enjoyed gathering with his family and friends.Vinny was an avid fan of horse racing and especially enjoyed Rockingham Park. He was a well known and frequent patron of many local businesses and restaurants, who particularly made a point of knowing someone's name to greet them again in a personal way. Vinny enjoyed classical music and had a vast knowledge of the best recordings and orchestras.He is survived by his siblings, Ann Gedaminsky of Melrose, Mary Sudol and her husband John of Andover, Anthony and his wife Mary of Sarasota, FL, Stanley and his wife Lisa and niece Olivia of Bedford, and Julie Finn and her husband George of Washington, NC. Plaistow - Robert (Bob) G. Goulet, 69 passed away peacefully at his home on June 2, 2024 surrounded by his loving family. Bob was the husband of Janet A. (Belleau) Goulet. Born in Haverhill on March 28, 1955, he was the son of the late Henry W. and Dorothy L (German) Goulet. Bob was educated in Haverhill and graduated from Haverhill Trade School, Class of 1973. Early in his career Bob worked as a pipe fitter at Foss Manufacturing before joining his father as an apprentice plumber. Bob worked 45 years as a Master Plumber serving families and business accounts in Haverhill and Southern NH before he retired in January of 2024.Bob attended Rock Church where he and his wife sang in the choir. He enjoyed lighthouses, seacoast views, and beaches. He also enjoyed hiking in the White Mountains and going out dancing with friends and family. His favorite music was Christian and smooth Jazz. Bob was a friend to all, a great listener, and always offered sound advice. Bob had a strong devotion to God. Sun City West - Patricia A. (Carson) Graham, 79, passed away peacefully in her home in Sun City West, AZ, on May 23, 2024, with her loving daughter Kelly at her side. Portland - Marilyn Griffith (Greco), 91, of Blue Hill, ME (formerly of North Andover, MA) passed away April 1st, 2024 in Portland, ME.She was born January 22, 1933 in Hartford, CT, the daughter of the late Joseph Greco, and the late Josephine (Barbagallo) Greco. She was widowed at a young age and worked hard to support and raise her three children, who were very young at the time. She never remarried.She loved her family very much. She loved all animals, including all her kitties (and even a skunk!), baked stuffed lobster, listening to jazz, and watching TV shows like Murder She Wrote, and Scooby Doo! She loved to cook for family and friends. Derry - Jerome "Jerry" Joseph Guerrin, 79, of Derry, NH, passed away on Friday, May 31, 2024, at Catholic Medical Center in Manchester, NH. He was born on April 26, 1945, in Brooklyn, NY, to the late Jerome and Edna (Lee) Guerrin. He graduated from St. Francis College, Brooklyn, NY. Jerry proudly served his country with the United States Army serving as a Military Police Officer in Korea during the Vietnam War. Upon his return home, he resumed working with the United States Custom Agency as a Special Agent Group Supervisor at SAC offices in NYC, Washington, D.C. and Boston. He was president of the New England Chapter of the Association of Former Customs & Homeland Security Special Agents. He will be missed by many and his stories will live on forever. Jerry was an active member of the Derry Salem Elks Lodge and participated in their pool leagues. He also enjoyed kayaking with Carol in NH, ME and eastern Long Island, NY and attending many Pan Am alumni conventions and functions. Andover - Ernest J. Gulla of Andover, formerly of Melrose, passed away on June 2, 2024 at the High Pointe House Hospice in Haverhill surrounded by his loving family. Born July 1, 1937 in Cambridge, he was just a month shy of his 87th birthday.Mr. Gulla was the son of the late Patrick J. Gulla and Adeline M. Gulla of Melrose.He attended grammar school in Everett, and after the family moved to Melrose in 1951, he graduated from Melrose High School, Class of 1955. Boston - Brother Leonard F. Haley, SM, of Boston, died Tuesday, June 4, 2024 at Maristhill Nursing Home in Waltham. He was 84.Brother Leonard was born in Cambridge on July 11, 1939, a son of the late Leonard and Mary (McCullough) Haley, and was raised in Somerville. A year after graduating from Somerville High School he entered the Marist Novitiate in Staten Island, New York and received his first profession on December 8, 1959. His perpetual profession came four years later. He earned his bachelor's degree in religious studies at the University of Detroit.From there he embarked on a 60-year ministry with the Society of Mary. Fr. Leonard served the community in a variety of capacities as an administrator, pastoral and hospital ministries, and as a volunteer. He served at Notre Dame High School in Harper Woods, Michigan, Holy Name Parish in Detroit, Mount Carmel Parish in Methuen, Saint Anne Parish in Lawrence, Saint Joseph's Parish in Haverhill, Saint Lucy's Parish in Methuen and at the Marist homes in Framingham and in Boston. In retirement he continued his service to the Church and assisted at several area parishes including Our Lady Comforter of the Afflicted in Waltham.Brother Leonard leaves his brother, Robert Haley (Diane) of Hudson, his nephew, niece, cousins and their families as well as his confreres in the Society of Mary Community.Family and friends will honor and remember Bro. Andover - Mrs. Frances Claire (Crowley) Hennessey of Andover and Manchester-by-the-Sea, beloved wife of 53 years of the late David J. Hennessey, died peacefully Sunday, May 26, 2024 at home surrounded by her loving family.Born in Everett, January 19, 1945, Frances is the daughter of the late John and Claire Crowley. After being raised and educated in Somerville and Malden, Frances attended and graduated from Cheverus Catholic High School in Malden (Sisters of Providence). She continued her education and worked herself through Emmanual College in Boston earning her Bachelor's Degree in Science/Biology. It was in these years she met and married her love, David. After working as a teacher of nursing students in the Boston area, she and David joined the Peace Corps and shortly thereafter began their new family. David's career brought them to relocate to Puerto Rico with their first three children. Prior to the birth of their fourth child they settled in Andover Massachusetts where Frances raised the children at home. Frances was committed to her faith and actively participated in pilgrimages to the Vatican in Rome, as well as supported many World Youth Days for her family. Frances and David had a love for the ocean; many summers were spent in Gloucester at Wingaersheek Beach where they had had their first "date", and they enjoyed family days and cook-outs in Manchester-by-the-Sea, Rockport, Salisbury, Hampton, NH and York, Maine. Newton - Carol Ann (Breuer) Hinckley, age 80, of Newton, NH died on Sunday, June 23, 2024 at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston, MA. She was the beloved wife of Al Hinckley with whom she shared 34 years of marriage. She was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1943 and was the daughter of the late Daniel and Elenor (Clemons) Breuer. Besides her husband, she is survived by her children David Dilling and his wife Bianca of The Netherlands, Nancy Grava and her husband Chris of Andover, MA and Linda Kasalko and her husband Jeff of Irvine, CA, her stepchildren Al Hinckley and his wife Sue of Freemont, NH and Heather Front and her husband Jonathon of Naples, FL, and her ten grandchildren. Carol was an avid reader and a retired HR benefits specialist. Since retiring, she loved to socialize with friends and family. She especially enjoyed spending time with and hearing stories about her grandchildren. In addition to reading, she had many creative hobbies, including knitting and gardening.
